| Okay, so you realize you need to buy better tables for the church. But how do you begin sorting through the endless options of size, shape, construction materials, legs, frames, design, and color? You can start here with suggestions from church leaders and people who produce and sell church tables. The first question they'll say you should answer is: Will these tables stay put, or will they be moved from room to room to meet various needs? Tables that stay put. Once upon a time, tables were heavy pieces of furniture that were moved into place and stayed there. You can still get such tables for your conference room or the senior pastor's office. The folks at L.L. Sams produce beautiful red oak tables that will dress up any room for several hundred dollars apiece. Durable tables at a price. For other rooms, less costly alternatives, such as tables made of plywood or particleboard (wood chips and glue), are a better choice. A 30-by-72-inch particleboard table, for example, costs about $60 and weighs 80 pounds. | |||
